It’s not enough just to know what you want out of LIFE, you also have to have a certain amount of belief in what you want, as well.
Faith, whether religious or not, has a huge impact on your ability to succeed. What you believe will many times dictate what you do.
Henry Ford said it this way, “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”
Limiting beliefs are always detrimental to success. When you believe you can’t do something, shouldn’t do something, don’t deserve to do something or believe that it won’t matter if you do a certain thing or not, it will kill your confidence, which will kill your momentum and your ability to finish along with it.
Faith overcomes those types of limiting beliefs and gives you the willpower to move forward in the face of all those doubts that creep in and try to keep you from your goals. With enough faith, anything can be accomplished.
Sounds easy, right? It actually is — if you believe.
You have to believe that what you are doing is right.
If what you are trying to accomplish goes against your morals or religious belief system or what you believe to be true, you will not be able to succeed at it.
Philippians 4:8 says “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.”
You have to believe you are the right person for the job.
If not you, then who? That’s what you have to ask yourself. Success is based on effort not worthiness. If you are willing to truly put forth honest effort ,then you deserve to succeed. Believe that, and you will go far.
You have to believe you can accomplish what you want to do.
Doubts and fears are often caused by the lack of knowledge or understanding. People get paralyzed by what they don’t know or don’t understand. We’ve all had moments where we have felt that we couldn’t do something because we didn’t know how, or didn’t feel that we had the skills to accomplish it.
The truth is, you can always learn what you don’t know; you can be trained to do what you don’t know how to do and overcome a lack of understanding with education.
Back to Philippians 4, we see that verse 13 says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
You have to believe what you’re working for will have an impact.
There are a ton of gurus and experts out there who will say you have to focus on money, fame and all sorts of other self-satisfying rewards to motivate you towards success.
While there’s no doubt those byproducts are absolutely awesome, when your focus is on having an impact on the people around you, you will be inspired and driven to do more than you ever thought you could.
You don’t have to change the world with every action you take. Even if the impact is a small one in a concentrated part of your world it will still be significant enough to keep you moving forward.
So as you move forward in LIFE, have faith!
Believe what you’re doing is right; Believe you are the right person for the job; Believe you can accomplish your goals; Believe what you’re doing will have an impact on others and LIVE LIFE!
