Don’t let the past dictate your future.
Recently I heard a college football coach make the statement that the most important score in a game is the score at halftime.
Normally, I would disagree and say that the most important score is the final score but in this case, he made a valid point.
He said, “The score at halftime shows you what has to happen in the second half. No need to worry about what happened in the first half but rather focus on what has to happen in the second half to change the outcome of the game.”
Too many times in life we allow what has happened in our past dictate our future.
We all go through circumstances or have things happen to us, but we can’t allow those to determine who we become or what we accomplish.
All the things from our past work together, whether bad or good, to bring us to where we are right now. Our futures are not set in stone and are not reliant on anything in our past.
Our futures are only what we make them.
Want a different outcome? Then determine right now to become different.
I firmly believe that you are responsible for your own success or failure. That means your future is in your hands.
When you let the past dictate your future, you are giving over control of your life to circumstance.
Take back the controls, stand up to your past, create your future and Live Life!
